Two TwenTEA One: That One Time When Chris Loves Julia Accused Me of Defamation Instead of Owning Her Messaging
Telling influencers to stay silent on "polarizing topics" was one choice. Trying to shut me down for calling it out was another.
Alright, my little tea cups. Settle in for a little story.
It was the summer of 2022.
The U.S. Supreme Court had overturned Roe v. Wade with the 6-3 Dobbs decision on June 24, ending the constitutional right to abortion and returning abortion regulation to individual states.
Like always, I was posting on the topic in my Stories. Many Instagram users were, rightfully, upset that some of their favorite influencers were staying silent on the Dobbs decision. So I decided to remind everyone why those influencers were choosing to stay silent. Because influencers were going to lose followers whether they were against or for the Dobbs decision.
